Pick-Up Destroyed In Fire
Mon. Feb 4th 2019

Hook & Ladder was dispatched at 0627 for a car fire being reported by CSP on I-84 West between Exits 10 and 9.

A few minutes later the location was updated to between Exits 11 and 10, so Sandy Hook was added to the call; the company was dispatched at 06:28.

A Hook & Ladder officer located the incident, which was between the westbound Exit 10 off and onramps, so responding apparatus was redirected at that time.

Firefighters found a fully-involved Ford pick-up truck. Its driver had been able to safely self-extricate without injury.

Engine 441 responded with a crew, joining Hook & Ladder's Engine 111 at the scene. The fire was knocked down quickly.

Sandy Hook returned to service at 07:05.
