Collision Closes Section Of Berkshire Road
Sat. May 2nd 2020

Sandy Hook VFR, Newtown Volunteer Ambulance and a paramedic were dispatched at 13:30 to the area of 217 Berkshire Road.

Captain Rob Sibley was first on the scene and reported a collision between two vehicles, just west of Berkshire's intersection with Paugussett Road, with one male party on the ground. A debris field spread from Paugussett to the intersection of Berkshire and its western intersection with Chestnut Hill Road.

Rescue 444 and Engine 441 responded from the main station with crews, and Engine 442 responded from the substation with a crew. Captain Sibley served as OIC.

Berkshire was closed between its intersections with Chestnut Hill Road, with traffic detoured over that road while first responders worked.

Drivers and passengers of the vehicles involved were all checked, but none were transported to the hospital. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Sandy Hook returned to service at 14:45.
