Great Day For Golf, Even Under Overcast Skies
Mon. Oct 1st 2018

Nearly 75 golf enthusiasts participated in the 31st Annual Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue Golf Tournament on Monday, October 1, presented for the third straight year at The Golf Club at Oxford Greens. It was overcast much of the day, and occasionally drizzly, but everyone seemed to nevertheless enjoy themselves.

The winning foursome this year was Tony Bruno, Dave D’Ambre, Mike D’Angelis and Chris Doyle, who finished their round with a 61 on the par 72 course.

SHVFR Captain Pete Barresi finished Closest to the Pin (3’8”) on Hole 16; Bill Piccirillo was Closest to the Line, less than 15’ from Hole 10; and Bill Truman was credited with Longest Drive.

The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps team went home with the 2018 Duffer Trophy.
