LobsterFest In The Books For Another Year

Hundreds of people joined Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company members, friends, family and other volunteers for this year’s LobsterFest, which was presented at our main station Friday and Saturday, June 5-6, 2026.

Thank you to everyone who played any role in presenting this event, a major fundraiser for our company. We hope everyone who attended enjoyed themselves.

We’ll see everyone next year.

Furthest Traveled! Mike Grist, who lives in Florida, and Jackson Whitlock, Zach Grist, Andrew Gleespen, Brooke Gleespen, Ryan Gleespen, and Ralph Flynn, who all live in Ohio, traveled from Ohio on June 5 to attend LobsterFest. Once they enjoyed their dinner they returned home. Andrew told firefighters he and some friends “stumbled upon this event a few years ago while on our way home from a vacation.” They now make it an annual tradition to drive in for our event.

LobsterFest 2025 in the books

Despite two days of challenging weather, LobsterFest 2025 is in the books. We thank everyone who joined us during Friday’s heat and/or Saturday’s rain.

Mark your calendars now: next year’s LobsterFest will be Friday and Saturday, June 5-6, 2026.

35th Anniversary LobsterFest In The Books

Friday & Saturday, June 7-8, 2024

Thirty-five years ago, what started out as a humble fundraiser for Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company’s golden anniversary is now a bustling annual tradition. This year, on June 7 and 8, the members of the company — assisted by dozens of additional family members, friends and other volunteer — served 2,040 lobsters and 770 steaks. Between the two nights, there were no less than 3,000 people in attendance. They enjoyed a raw seafood bar, their choices of lobster, steak, hambuger and hot dog entrees, a cocktail bar, and live music.

LobsterFest 2024 is in the books!

Over the two nights of Friday and Saturday, June 7-8, we cooked and served 2,050 lobsters and 770 steaks. We also sold dozens of hamburger and hot dog meals, and many guests enjoyed offerings from our raw bar.

Thank you to everyone who made all of this possible. We appreciate everyone who helped make this fundraiser another successful event for us and the community we serve. Proceeds from LobsterFest directly benefit our company.
